This workshop symposium will examine the underlying shopper and technological trends that are driving this revolution and share the latest innovations in retail. The panel will give its vision for the future of the industry and discuss the possibilities with participants. Retail innovation specialists from Publicis Groupe companies Arc Worldwide and SapientRazorfish will demonstrate some of the more interesting emerging technologies.

Jason Goldberg

SVP, Content & Commerce

Jason "Retailgeek" Goldberg leads the commerce and content practice at SapientRazorfish. He is a fourth generation retailer, who launched his first e-commerce site for Blockbuster Entertainment in 1996. In the subsequent years he has served as a principal customer experience architect for top retailers including Best Buy, REI and T-Mobile. With a focus on e-commerce and digital marketing for omnichannel retailers, Goldberg has worked with more than 100 clients on the Internet Top 500 and has been responsible for billions of dollars in online revenues. Under his twitter feed @retailgeek he is one of the most followed e-commerce subject matter experts on the web. He is a member of the board of directors of shop.org (the digital retail arm of the National Retail Federation). Goldberg has served as an expert witness in Federal Court on e-commerce and a guest lecturer on retail and e-commerce at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He is also a member of the RetailWire braintrust, has a regular column on mediapost, hosts iTunes’ top e-commerce podcast called “The Jason & Scot Show”  and was voted one of retail’s top global influencers by Vend. He will be inducted into the National Retail Federation Hall of Fame “The List” in January, 2017.

David Hewitt

David Hewitt brings more than 20 years of experience in design, technology and mobile. He drives innovation for clients by helping them place the right strategic bets, design around the needs of the customer and take advantage of emerging technologies to best connect brands and customers. He is a founder of SapientRazorfish’s mobile center of excellence, a full-service team dedicated to designing and developing mobile experiences across the mobile web and with native and messaging platforms. As global mobility strategy lead, Hewitt helps brands take a mobile-first approach to transforming their business around tomorrow’s customer and helps shape innovation lab efforts and connect emerging technologies to new client opportunities.

In his time at SapientRazorfish, Hewitt has spearheaded the design of consumer and enterprise experiences and prototypes for emerging devices and services. He has delivered mobile strategy and consumer experiences for some of the world’s leading brands including AT&T, AutoTrader UK, BB&T, Citi, Chrysler, Coca-Cola, J&J, Home Depot, IHG, LG, Motorola, NASCAR, Nike, Samsung, Sony, Sprint, Staples, UnitedHealthcare and Verizon Wireless. Nick Jones

Nick Jones has more than 20 years of experience building brands through cross-channel marketing. Today he leads Arc’s focus on innovation as well as its retail and shopper marketing practice. He brings insight and best practices to successfully integrate new technologies into marketing initiatives for creating immersive and engaging brand experiences. He has led the agency’s development of the proprietary LBsparc Retail Inspiration Labs and FutureShop expo events.

Jones is widely recognized as a leader in retail innovation. A highly regarded speaker on this topic, he has most recently spoken at the Mobile World Congress, Path to Purchase Expo, SPECs and GlobalShop. In late 2015, he presented alongside Rebecca and Uri Minkoff at Chicago Ideas Week on “The Future of Retail." He is a coveted expert resource for the media based on his knowledge of retail innovation and insightful observations.

He started his career at Lintas New York (now Lowe Worldwide) in the general advertising world before joining integrated marketing agency Upshot. He joined Arc in 2009 prior to which he spent four years in London building and leading Rivet, a shopper marketing agency. Jones has worked on advertising, CRM/direct, digital, promotions and retail/shopper marketing for numerous brands including P&G, Coca-Cola, MillerCoors, Unilever, Sony, IBM, Warner Brothers, Embassy Suites Hotels, Lego, Nokia and Electrolux.

Born and raised near Liverpool, England, Jones is a graduate of the University of Wales and received his MBA in marketing from Colorado State University.
